Spinning in the Rain

Hi all,

We have been having horrible weather as of late. Work schdules and studies have sadly taken precedence over the fishing. Did some fly work on the odd break but had little to show for it.

Thought things would change when all in the team got some time off work over the last weekend.

The first day out was an absoulte bummer with one of our frequented spots not yeilding much in terms of quality fish. Not to say that quantities were encouraging either.

Managed to salvage the weekend though.

Went for a short spin on sunday with Jake. Landed 4 decent flatties and a nice tailor. Dropped a bream. Though all were caught on spin gear, it was a great day despite bad weather and little promise of anything fruitful.

enjoy the pics and tight lines!

Carp pond Madness

As some of you might already know, I have relocated to the eastern side of sydney. This brought with it a new hunt for spots and new quarries.

I have yet to fulfil the dream of sight casting to a Mulloway and landing one on fly but I'm sure we'll get there some day.

For the time being I'm completely stoked by my new carp pond!

wife actually told me she saw a couple of fishermen here on the weekdays casting flies to no avail.

I decided to give it a crack and am happy to report the discovery of a new "sure catch pond"

Average sessions here (2 so far) do not go beyond an hour and I will definately see a fish of above 10lbs everytime.

took a mate of mine there for my second vist.

To date I have landed 3 carps and dropped just as many. Bang for buck, I've found a new home! enjoy the pics

Fishin' blues

It's been a really really long time since Justin or myself has posted a word on this site.

We've been busy. Work commitments, post Grad studies and the F***ked up economic situation meant that many of our fishing plans had to be shelved till our lives moved into a more stable spot. (if we get sponsors that would be better. But till then we're worker before anglers.

It's not that we haven't wet a line. It's just that we haven't had much time to do so.

Here are some pics to entertain you if you're reading from the office.

lines!

New Wand New adventures

Not too long ago I came into possession of my Winston BII MX. I must say everything was as I dreamed it would be. Together with an 8 and nine wt, I've been able to open up the possibilities of solely fishing on the fly.

The recent spate of me not posting was largely due to my time spent fine tuning and exploring the options that we modern fly fishers now have with the amount of gear readily available on the market.

From all forms of land based flay fishing to inshore boat work. methods have been refined and techniques honed.

I shall dispense with much of the talk and let the photos tell the stories. I've also developed some patterns and rigs to better suit my preferences for fishing the areas that I chose to concentrate on.

So enjoy! and do contact me if you want to join in the quest to fish the entire sydney on fly.
