the Pink Pillie strikes again!

It's been a rather slow week. with not much catches to report, other than the usual bread and butter species. Kings didn't show up as often as they usually would and the bass seem to be on a total shutdown.

Having said that, The week was hardly boring for yours truly. I managed to tangle with my largest Bream to date to be taken on a fly. You guessed it. The Pink pilchard delivered the goods on a rising tide casting to a sand gutter surrounded by some structure.

Shan't bore you too much with the details but it was an evening rise of about 1.3m and the winds were very cooperative.8lb tippet was used and 7wt line was easily cast about 40-50 ft. It wasn't sight fishing, (it seldom is with Bream) but it was certainly a pleasure to catch such a fine specimen of my Year round sport fish!
For those interested it measured 42 cm and is the Biggest Bream on fly to date for me.
